60s Group Work

MOTOWN

We've been split off into different groups to compose a 60s style song. The genre we are working on is Motown.
For Motown, as there are 3 of us, we are looking into girl groups of the era to discover the sound we will need to capture within our song. We are looking at The Supremes and I have noted down their presentation:

• How they stand/position themselves on stage as a trio
• How they move while they are singing - the way they keep each movement simple and move together
• Their connection with their audience - eye contact, body language, posture and confidence

The Motown sound comes from the blues, so you will typically find tambourines, trumpets, saxophone, bass, drums use of harmonies and backing vocals and lyrics based on love.
